Ksplice provides members of the Linux community free security updates for their desktop Linux installation. Ksplice currently supports Ubuntu and Fedora distributions. No registration is necessary, but providing Ksplice with an email address allows us to communicate with you should any issues arise.
Select Save File and double-click on ksplice-uptrack.deb file in your Downloads folder. Ubuntu Software Center will launch.
Make sure Open with Ubuntu Software Center is selected, as above, and click OK.
Ubuntu Software Center will bring up the ksplice-uptrack package information. Click Install, and the installation will begin. You will be prompted for your password:
Enter your password and click OK. You will next be prompted to agree to the terms of service:
Read the terms, check the box and click Forward. The installation process will continue. When Ksplice Uptrack is fully installed, the Ksplice Uptrack Manager will appear:
Ksplice Uptrack is now installed on your system and ready to apply the latest fixes to Linux, all without rebooting. Click “Install all updates” to bring your kernel up to date:

When you click the download button, a dialog box will appear:
Make sure Open with Package Installer is selected, as above, and click OK. The installer will appear:
Click Install, and the installation will begin. You will be asked to confirm installation of the Ksplice Uptrack package. Click Continue:
You will then be prompted for the root password:
Enter the password, and click Authenticate. When installation is complete, you will again be prompted again for the root password:
You will then be asked to read and accept the Ksplice terms of service. After you do accept the terms, the Ksplice Uptrack Manager will appear:
